What do you need to know?

We have tried to provide the information you need on our website. If you can't find the information you are looking for please contact us and we will ensure you get a prompt response. However, before contacting us, do check the FAQs below:

Can I still enter the 2017 Clough Taylor People'sRun?

Sorry, entry to the Clough Taylor People's Run is now closed.

Can I enter the Clough Taylor People's Run on the day?

Sorry, we will  not be accepting entries on the day.

If I miss the closing date for entry, can I still enter to take part?

No. We will not be taking entries on the day. If you wish to take part please ensure you enter in plenty of time.

I have entered, when will I receive further details?

You will receive confirmation of your entry by email within one week of entering. You will then receive ful details of getting to the event, parking, public transport, collection of number and T-shirt, etc. by email 7-10 days before the event..

When will I receive my number and directions?

All details and directions will be emailed out to Clough Taylor People’s Runners 7-10 days prior to the event. Numbers and T-shirts will be available for collection on the day. As a charity event we find not posting these out in advance saves a considerable amount of money.

What distance is the Clough Taylor People's Run?

The Clough Taylor People's Run is accurately measured and certified as 10km (which is 6.2 miles in old money) or 5km (3.1 miles). 

Will my time and finishing position be recorded?

Yes. Every entrant will receive a timing chip which will time them between start and finish and also record their position. 

Do I have to run the whole way?

Absolutely not! Although the event is called the Clough Taylor People’s Run you can jog it, walk it or even crawl it if you prefer. The main thing is we all come together to remember and say thanks to Brian Clough and Peter Taylor while supporting some great causes. Of course, you can run it if you want to!

How will I know how far I have run and/or how far there is to go?

There will be a sign every kilometre telling you how far you have gone. These will be large yellow signs with the distance written in black.

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes. You must be 15 or over on the day of the event to enter the 10km. For the 5km you must be 13 or over unless you are accompanied by an adult who is also entered.

What time does the event start?

Both 10km and 5km runs will start together at 10.30am at both venues.

Will there be a secure baggage drop/storage area?

No. Both venues will offer a place to leave baggage however the security of these areas cannot be guaranteed. Please do not leave valuables in your unattended baggage.

Do I have to run for charity?

While we encourage everyone who enters to run for one our official charities, you do not have to. Once you have entered you can run for whatever cause you want to or even just for yourself. Please do consider supporting one or more of our official charities though.

Can I get a souvenir T-shirt?

Everyone who enters will receive a free Clough Taylor People's Run T-shirt. When you enter you can choose your size and whether you want your T-shirt in Forest Red, Rams Black or Neutral Blue. Which colour will be predominant on the day? That's up to you!

Is there a memento?

Yes. Everyone who finishes will receive a commemorative Clough Taylor People's Run medal.

Are any drinks provided?

Yes. Water will be available at half way in the 10km and at the finish in the 10km and 5km. 

Will refreshments be available?

Yes. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from vendors at the event.

Will there be a charge for car parking?

We are awaiting confirmation from both venues. This section will be updated as soon as those details known to us.

Have we forgotten anything?
